My husband and I stopped at Lighthouse Cottage on our way home from Florida to New Jersey. We had just went on a week long vacation with our families to Walt Disney World, followed by a 3 day long Royal Caribbean cruise that we got married on! The previous week was extremely stressful and exhausting. Lighthouse Cottage was the perfect place to stop and unwind. The house is in the perfect location for peace and quiet. They should change the name to "Sunrise Cottage" because the view is spectacular!! No need to even step outside to see the sunrise, you can watch from the comfort of the couch! The house was exceptionally clean when we arrived, stocked with everything you need. We took full advantage of the fire pit on the chilly January nights. What a beautiful beach cottage! Cozy, clean and perfectly nestled among the dunes. The screened front porch was our favorite place! We spent hours there under the fans admiring the oceanfront view. The lighthouse was a 5 minute bike ride or 20 minute walk and was a site to see. We will definitely be staying here again! It was so hard to leave! Welcome to Lighthouse Cottage! Private, single family home has picturesque ocean views and a public beach access just steps away. Stay in paradise and feel immediately at home with 3 comfortable bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, screen porch, fully stocked kitchen, all updated furnishings, appliances, and fun, beachy décor. After splashing in the waves and lounging on the sand, shower off in the outdoor shower or cook dinner on the gas grill. Take a short walk to the Morris Island Lighthouse beach for wow-worthy photos.
Step into the living room with panoramic ocean views through the floor to ceiling windows. Watch your favorite shows on the smart TV, or just take in the ocean and wildlife from the plush furnishings. Living area flows seamlessly into the dining area that seats 4, which connects to the kitchen. Prepare family meals with everything provided to cook and serve your hungry guests after a day exploring. Kitchen is fully stocked with serveware, cookware, and modern appliances.
Master bedroom is down the hall with 1 queen bed, flat screen TV, and full private bathroom en suite. Second bedroom sleeps 2 guests with 1 queen bed. Another full bathroom with a large walk-in shower is found in the hallway and easily accessible by both guest bedrooms. Guest bedroom 3 includes 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed. All beds are made up with fresh, high quality linens, and bath towel sets are provided for each guest.
If you don't feel like napping in your bedroom, head out to the screen porch to lounge on the oversize daybed! Ample seating is provided on the screen porch, open deck, and under the house to gather together, sip cool beverages, play games, and enjoy the views of the ocean and the Low Country. Dine under the house at the picnic table, grill on the gas grill, and challenge each other to ping pong. Lighthouse Cottage is on the "Edge of America" so you can walk on the beach for miles, view protected, undeveloped beach areas, take a short stroll to the Morris Island Lighthouse, bird watch and possibly catch a glimpse of dolphin playing in the surf. Drive, rent a golf cart, or rent bikes to travel to downtown Folly Beach, just a short 3.5 miles away. Wander through local shops, markets (seasonal & holidays), listen to live entertainment, and eat at one of our local restaurants. All restaurants and shops are open year-round. Get out on the water to take a fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, shelling, or dolphin watching tour from a licensed guide. Surfing lessons are available through several companies and instructors. Stroll down the Folly Beach Pier on Center Street.
Just a short, 25-minute drive will take you into historical, downtown Charleston to enjoy all of the charm that the Holy City has to offer. Experience world-class dining, art galleries, explore swanky boutiques, souvenir shopping along The Market, harbor views from The Battery and Waterfront Park, theater, comedy clubs, museums, grand churches, history, carriage and ghost tours, plus so much more! Parking for up to 2 vehicles is free in the driveway area. Beach path in front of the home leads to the public beach access located directly next to the home. Check-in is 4:00pm and check out is 10:00am.
