What Essentials to Pack in your Beach Bag for your Spring Break Vacation

Beach items on beige paper background close up. Summer vacation concept

Are you headed to the Charleston area for spring break? Nothing says getting to spend time at one of the many beaches on the South Carolina Coast. Staying in one of our Carolina One vacation rentals is vital but having the right beach bag essential will help make your vacation a little easier. Be sure to check your “beach bag” basic list before you leave home to guarantee you will have a good time.

Beach Bag Essentials

Beach Bag

Do you have a bag you have claimed as your beach bag for all your vacations? Having the right bag can make ALL the difference in the world. Sure, we know that you can throw all your essentials into any bag, but did you know that all beach bags were not created. We suggest looking at the size, is it water & sand resistant, security, and stylish when searching for your bag. We have found that using a backpack, diaper bag (even if you don’t have little ones), or even a large utility tote bag works perfectly for a beach bag.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is a must for any beach bag when you vacation to the Charleston Coast. Have a sunscreen designed for your beach activities like waterproof, sport, high SPF, etch. Dermatologists recommend that you use sunscreen with at least 30 SPF while enjoying the sunshine. Don’t forget to reapply throughout the day as you don’t want to ruin your vacation the first day you’re here with a sunburn.

Water Resistant Phone Pouch

Between the water, sun, and sand, the beach is filled with many things that can damage your phone. We know that phones are not cheap these days, and why would you want to ruin them the first day you’re on the beach enjoying them. Having a water-resistant pouch in your beach bag can be a lifesaver for many. If you do not have one, then a sandwich bag or Ziploc bag will do the same as a pouch. This way, your phone is protected from the elements at the beach, and you can continue to use it while enjoying your time soaking up the sun.

Reusable Cup

closeup of a glass reusable water bottle on the seashore of a lonely beach

When you spend your day in the sun and sand, you will want to stay hydrated. Throw a few water bottles in the cooler or bring a reusable bottle such as a Yeti Cup or S’well Bottle. These will help keep your drink ice cold all day long. The sun and salt will dry you out, so make sure that you have enough water to go around for everyone in the family. If you’re staying in an oceanfront vacation rental, you’ll be able to go back and refill as often as you’d like.

Baby Powder

This essential is a must-have in your beach bag for your next vacation. Whether you’re staying in an oceanfront vacation rental, or you decided to drive to the nearest beach access, sand will be all over you when you leave the beach. Bringing baby powder in your beach bag will magically get the sand off your body without any irritation and is perfect for all ages in the family.

There are many other things that you can pack into your beach bags, such as beach towels, hats and sunglasses, and light-colored shirts for the kids, but these are the essentials we thought you should have with you. If you are still looking for a place to stay this spring break, check out our Carolina One vacation rentals today. We can’t wait to see you and your family soon, and we’d like to know what you packed in your beach bag.

One of the benefits of staying in one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals is getting to explore the things around the area. Nothing screams fall more than heading to a local pumpkin patch on your next vacation. Head on over to the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch over in Mt. Pleasant. They will be open from October 1st to October 31st, 2021. Not only will they have a great patch that you can choose the best pumpkin from, but they have a little more too. One of the things you can do here is their certified corn maze which is an 8-acre maze. They also have a family-friendly monster hayride, a petting zoo, and more. Be sure to get your admission tickets to enjoy all the fun at the Boone Hill Pumpkin Patch.

Folly Beach

Folly Beach during the fall months is a great time to enjoy the island. Not only will you and your family get to enjoy some great weather, but you can enjoy spending the weekend at Legare Farm. They are located on nearby Johns Island and open up beginning October 1st until October 31st, 2021. While it’s free admission to get into their pumpkin patch for free, you will have to purchase some of the activities. Some of the extra activities you may pay for are a hayride, pumpkin picking, horse rides, scarecrow factory, a gem mine, or a corn cannon. Think of the fun you’ll have to make new memories while exploring this fun pumpkin patch near Folly Beach!

Edisto Beach

Edisto Beach may not have any pumpkin patches nearby, but it does offer many to come and enjoy a few fun things. October is filled with fun as the temperatures are becoming cooler which means fall festivals are here. On October 16th, from 11 am to 4 pm, Edisto Beach is hosting its very own fall festival. There will be plenty of vendors, but there will be arts & crafts to purchase and activities for the kids to do. If you’re in town around on October 27th, head on over to Bay Creek Park next to the marina to allow the kids to trick or treat from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Yes, it’s still unbelievable that many of us have learned to work from home or our kids learning from home. At Carolina One Vacation Rentals, we want to assure all of our loyal patrons that although the vaccines have rolled out, our cleaning standards will remain high and stay in accordance with CDC Guidelines.  We have seen an increase in the number of families ready to hit the beach this summer and are thrilled to have visitors enjoying our beautiful coast again.

Learn Virtually While on Vacation

Take a Vacation Even While Learning Virtually & Working Remote

This year learning for many students will be different compared to previous years. Instead of heading back to school in the classroom, they will be learning from home virtually. Because of this change, that only means that you and your family can take a vacation while your kids are still in school. You will find that each one of our homes comes equipped with complimentary WIFI for you to enjoy. So instead of learning from home, come to the beach and learn all while enjoying your vacation to the Charleston area.

Work from the Beach

Take a Vacation Even While Learning Virtually & Working Remote

Another thing that has changed for many parents is working from home instead of the office. While many still had to go into the office because they were essential workers, many will remain home until 2021. This can be a wonderful thing because now you and your family can still take a vacation to the coast. Instead of sitting at home, hearing the kids fight about who has the remote, you can be enjoying your time at the beach. Work from the living room or deck of your vacation rental. Take a long lunch break and enjoy time with the family on the beach. No matter what working while on vacation is better than any day at home.

While there are so many other things that are exciting about the kids learning virtually and you work from home, these we wanted to share with you. If you haven’t booked your next vacation to stay with us in one of our Charleston area vacation rentals, now is the time. We can’t wait to see you and your family as you relax this fall on the South Carolina Coast!
