Staying in one of our Carolina One vacation rentals will keep you and your family close to the fun. Let’s look below at a few of the things you can do while here in the Charleston area this fall.

Isle of Palms

One of the benefits of staying in one of our Isle of Palms vacation rentals is getting to explore the things around the area. Nothing screams fall more than heading to a local pumpkin patch on your next vacation. Head on over to the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch over in Mt. Pleasant. They will be open from October 1st to October 31st, 2021. Not only will they have a great patch that you can choose the best pumpkin from, but they have a little more too. One of the things you can do here is their certified corn maze which is an 8-acre maze. They also have a family-friendly monster hayride, a petting zoo, and more. Be sure to get your admission tickets to enjoy all the fun at the Boone Hill Pumpkin Patch.

Folly Beach

Folly Beach during the fall months is a great time to enjoy the island. Not only will you and your family get to enjoy some great weather, but you can enjoy spending the weekend at Legare Farm. They are located on nearby Johns Island and open up beginning October 1st until October 31st, 2021. While it’s free admission to get into their pumpkin patch for free, you will have to purchase some of the activities. Some of the extra activities you may pay for are a hayride, pumpkin picking, horse rides, scarecrow factory, a gem mine, or a corn cannon. Think of the fun you’ll have to make new memories while exploring this fun pumpkin patch near Folly Beach!

Edisto Beach

Edisto Beach may not have any pumpkin patches nearby, but it does offer many to come and enjoy a few fun things. October is filled with fun as the temperatures are becoming cooler which means fall festivals are here. On October 16th, from 11 am to 4 pm, Edisto Beach is hosting its very own fall festival. There will be plenty of vendors, but there will be arts & crafts to purchase and activities for the kids to do. If you’re in town around on October 27th, head on over to Bay Creek Park next to the marina to allow the kids to trick or treat from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Who will have the best costume in your family this year?

Ring in the New Year in the Charleston Area

Ring in the New Year in the Charleston Area

It’s hard to believe that 2020 is almost over, and it will soon be time to ring in 2021 with the family. Vacationing to the Charleston area is just what your family needs after the crazy year we have all had. Spending New Year’s with us at Carolina One Vacation Rentals will allow your family to be close to the fun. Let’s look below at a few things that are happening this New Year’s Eve for your family to celebrate while on vacation.

The Flip Flop Drop

This year’s annual Flip Flop Drop-in Folly Beach will look a little different compared to previous years. Instead of heading down to Center Street, where it has been held for many years, you and your family will be able to watch it virtually from your vacation rental. Cook up some delicious steaks or seafood at your vacation rental, make up some charcuterie boards and enjoy a few glasses of wine while you sit and wait for the Flip Flop to drop. Once the clock strikes midnight, then it will be time to watch them fall from the firetruck as it has for many years!

2021 New Year’s Virtual 5K

Ring in the New Year in the Charleston Area

We know that 2020 seemed to bring out the best in ourselves, and we may have all started our New Year’s resolutions a little later in the year. Instead of waiting until later in the year, start 2021 out on a good note with a New Year’s Virtual 5K Run/Walk. Be sure to register today to get your packets in time for your fun run, and have a blast doing so. There is also a free option if you don’t want the fun swag that goes along with the run, which can be a good option for families. Head down to the beach and walk along with it, looking for shells as you get in your 3.1 miles together. Just enjoy your day with the family and start 2021 out on a good note this year.

While many things are happening this New Year’s here in the Charleston area, we wanted to share these with you. If you haven’t booked your next getaway to stay with us at Carolina One Vacation Rentals, now is the time. We hope to see you and your family as you help us ring in the New Year here on the South Carolina Coast!

Are you and your family traveling the Charleston area this fall and are looking for something to do? Then look no further as you can take advantage of fishing right here on the Coast of South Carolina. Staying in one of our Carolina One Vacation Rentals will keep you and your family close to the action. We have come up with a guide on where you can go fishing together this fall in the Charleston area.

Edisto Island

When you vacation on Edisto Island this fall, there are several places that we can recommend. Not only is fishing during the fall months fun, but it’s also relaxing too. Edisto Beach State Park will allow the family to experience some saltwater fishing together and more. Admission into the park is $8 per adult, $4 per child (ages 6-15), and free for kids five and under. Another great location on the island is to head over to the Botany Bay Plantation Heritage Preserve. This area is open, and we do recommend that you bring plenty of sunscreens and bug spray with you. If you have younger kids with you, then this may not be the place for you. There are also plenty of charter boats to take advantage of as well that you don’t want to miss.

 Folly Beach

Folly Beach is an excellent location to not only vacation at but to go fishing too. Known to many as the “laid back” island is where you will find some great places. Head over to the Folly Beach Pier as you soak up the sun and catch the fish. Depending on the time of year that you go will depend on the price of parking. Daily fishing on the pier is $5 per adult, Kids 12 & under are $3, seniors (60 & up) are $3, and Active Military are $4. You can also rent a rod and bait for the full day of $10 plus a $25 deposit. Think of the fun you and your family can have while on vacation to Folly Beach and enjoy a little fishing too!

Isle of Palms

Just a short drive from Isle of Palms is the Mount Pleasant Pier that has the same pricing for daily fishing. Not only is there the pier but there are also shops close by to where you will be able to do a little shopping too. Another great option is doing a charter fishing trip. There are many in the area, and we can tell you that each one offers you a great time on the boat while you make new memories.

While there are many other fun locations in the Charleston area to fish at this fall with the family, we wanted to share these with you. If you haven’t booked your fall vacation to stay with us in one of our Carolina One Vacation Rentals, now is the time. We can’t wait to see you and your family as you enjoy the cooler weather and the great fish this fall!

One of the things that are great about vacationing in the Charleston area is the available fun things.  You’re in luck because Fort Sumter has officially opened to visitors, and they are open daily. While some of the park sites inside the fort will be closed, your family will still be able to explore the fort. Fort Sumter is approximately an hour from Edisto, but we promise that this is an experience like no other.

Learn to Surf

Another fun activity that your family can do together this 4th of July is learning to surf. Edisto Beach surf lessons are available and are suitable for all ages. They do offer a weeklong class for your family or kids to enjoy. In these lessons, you will learn how to ride your first wave to learning how to stand up on the surfboard. Do you have someone in the family who loves to collect shells? If you do, then why not schedule a Shelling Excursion with the family. Make sure to bring your own water (for drinking), towels, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray. Also don’t forget to bring your phone, camera, and binoculars. What a fantastic way to spend the day with your family on this excursion!
