Can you believe that spring is here and before you know it, summer will be here too? It’s hard to believe that it was cold just a few weeks ago in most of the US, but now the warmer months are here to stay. Staying in one of our Carolina One vacation rentals will keep you and your family close to some of the action. Look below at what events you don’t want to miss in the Charleston area this summer.

Charleston Carifest

If you’re looking for a little Caribbean vacation but don’t want to travel outside the states, check out the Charleston Carifest. This annual festival brings Bahamian Carnival Culture to the SC Coast, filled with music, parades, costumes, and more. Plus, you don’t want to miss being able to try some of the fantastic Caribbean food, such as jerk chicken, conch fritters, and Bahamian crawfish. Don’t miss this Caribbean festival from June 29^th – July 1^st, 2023, with the family!

Movies in the Park

Are you staying in an Edisto Beach vacation rental and looking for something for the whole family to enjoy? Beginning July 12^th, 2023, join at Bay Creek Park to take part in a free movie night! The movies will start around dusk, so bring your chairs and blankets to sit and watch a family-friendly film. Every 2^nd Wednesday between July & September, a movie will play in the park, along with free popcorn. Other drinks and snacks will be available to purchase. Think of the fun the whole family will be to sit and watching a movie as you make new memories.

Relax at the Beach this Labor Day Weekend

For many families, Labor Day weekend means that it’s the end of summer for many families. This year instead of not doing anything to kick off the end of summer, head to the Charleston area. Charleston Water Week

Kicking off Labor Day weekend is the Charleston Water Week, which runs from September 4^th and ends on September 12^th. This is a water sports festival that includes kitesurfing, swimming, boating, surfing, and more. There are many different locations that you will be able to participate in this fun event. If you’re staying in one of our Folly Beach vacation rentals, then you’re in luck. You can head over to the Folly Beach Fishing Pier or the Folly Beach County Park to see what they have going on. Think of the fun you’ll have with the family as you get out on the water to make new memories.

12^th Annual Edisto Beach Shag Festival

Another fun festival coming back this year is the Edisto Beach Shag Festival over at the Bay Creek Park. Starting on Friday, September 3^rd at 4:00 pm and ending on Sunday, September 5^th at 10:00 pm. There is admission to this family-friendly festival for $15 per person each day, or get a weekend pass for $35 per person. Some of the fun things that you can enjoy at this fun festival are live music, food trucks, arts & crafts to purchase, and we can’t forget about dancing. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance to experience the Edisto Beach Shag Festival this year!
